Frequently asked questions
Is Second Look AI a law firm?+
No. Second Look AI is a technology platform that provides educational legal information and analysis. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Do you cover states other than Ohio?+
Version 1 focuses exclusively on Ohio. The architecture is built to expand to additional states.
What documents should I upload?+
Indictment, discovery, trial and sentencing transcripts, jury instructions, direct-appeal brief, appellate opinion, App.R. 26(B) filings, post-conviction petitions, motions for new trial, affidavits, expert reports, and any public records.
How does the AI decide what's an issue?+
The analysis is grounded strictly in your uploaded records. It cites the underlying document for every finding, distinguishes facts from legal conclusions, flags uncertainty, and never fabricates authority.
Is my data private?+
Yes. Each user's records are stored in a private encrypted bucket with row-level security. Only you can access your case files.
Can attorneys use Second Look AI?+
Attorneys can review reports and use them as an investigative starting point. Attorney-collaboration and white-label features are on the roadmap.
What happens after I get the report?+
The report is educational. If you believe there are meritorious issues, consult a licensed attorney. Second Look AI does not represent clients.
